I have come to learn that all fingers are not equal, everyone's lot in life is different. Most importantly, everyone's time is different and there is a time for everything. Even the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3;1 that ''For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under Heaven''.
Situations change, things change, circumstances change, heck! life.just.happens! and it happens differently for everyone.
Never lose focus, never lower your standards. Know your worth and value yourself.
At the end of the day, ''the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favour to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all''. - Ecclesiastes 9:11
